Monument to Catherine II - not preserved Vilna monument to Empress Catherine the Great work Mark Antokolskogo.Pamyatnik was very elegant and was one of the best works of a talented sculptor. Standing Empress looked to the east, the left outstretched hand she had the power, and the right - the scepter. The height of the figures with footrest was about 3 meters, and the height of the monument - 8 meters. statue weighed 22 tons, including a pedestal - 33 tons. On the front side of the pedestal it was carved in golden letters "Empress Catherine II", on the opposite side was carved the famous motto "sloughed vozvratih" .Monument was installed in the Cathedral Square, after the means of local merchant AM Pimonova were conducted costly operation stabilization of the foundation. Grand opening of the monument took place on September 10, 1904.
