Exterior view of the Santa Fe Station railroad passenger terminal. This view shows the station after its center dome, which was damaged in the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, was removed. Santa Fe opened the Moorish-inspired La Grande railroad station, located on the corner of 2nd and Santa Fe, on July 29, 1893. It was used as a passenger terminal for Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The station was damaged in the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, and was replaced by Union Station in 1939.
