View of Los Angeles in 1893, looking eastward from Santa Fe Avenue at 2nd Street. La Grande Santa Fe Depot is at right, located on the corner of 2nd and Santa Fe. It appears that the station is still under construction.Santa Fe opened the Moorish-inspired La Grande railroad station, located on the corner of 2nd and Santa Fe, on July 29, 1893. It was used as a passenger terminal for Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The station was damaged in the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, and was replaced by Union Station in 1939.
