The Royal Insurance Society building (The Royal Insurance Building). It was built in 1884 and demolished in 1920 under the building of the Federal Reserve Building). Illinois Trust and the Savings Bank (Illinois Trust and Savings Bank). It was built in 1896 by D. H. Burnham & Co. This building will later be replaced by the current continental Illinois (Continental Illinois Bank) in 1924. Grand Pasifik Hotel at the time of this photo Grand Pacific Hotel was only a shell of what it was once. When it was built in 1873 (for the second time), he occupied the whole city quarter, including the place where the Illinois trust and savings bank stands in this photo. The western half of the building was demolished around 1895, and the rest will be demolished in 1921. The Federal Building (with a dome) was completed around 1904 and stood until 1965.
