The Waldo-Hancock Bridge, spanning the west branch of the Penobscot River, opened November 16, 1931. It closed in 2006, demolished in 2013. A new bridge, the Penobscot Narrows Bridge replaced it. This is a nostalgic look at the bridge, when both sailing ships and steamships passed under it.
