The Ilion Palace Iliu Melatron (Greek Ιλίου Μέλαθρον, Ilion Palace) is the house of Heinrich Schliemann in the center of Athens, now occupied by the Numismatic Museum. The house was built in 1878-1879 on University Street (Panepistimiu) by German architect Ernst ecler Ziller a style that combines elements of the Renaissance and neoclassicism. A year was spent on interior decoration and wall painting, which was performed by a Slovenian artist who lived in Vienna - Yuri Subik (1855-1890). The cost of construction amounted to 890,000 francs. The house included 25 rooms on two floors, including an extensive hall that could be used for celebrations and scientific events. The decoration was made in the style of Pompeii frescoes, depicting scenes of the Trojan War, swastikas that adorned the mosaic floors and fencing elements were borrowed from Trojan ornaments.
