Pioneer Flintkote are manufacturers of asphalt and paper products such as roofing tiles and fiberboard. This site has seen many unfortunate events through the years: An asphalt vat explosion and fire occurred in 1953 a fire swept through thousands of bales of cardboard and fiberboard in 1955 and a steam explosion occurred at the paper plant in 1957.
