The view goes over the Spree on the new building of the high school (Le Collège) of the French-reformed community of Berlin. After the educational institution founded in 1689 sold its property at Niedlagstraße 1-2 in 1872 to the German Crown Prince, it lets a new school building build a new school building on her area between the projected left-wing Spreeferstraße (in the foreground, from 1882 Reichtagufer) and Dorotheenstrasse 41.
