The incredible story of the castle began in the late 50-ies of XIX century., When the Russian princess Zinaida Yusupova met in Paris with some Shevo Charles, whom she immediately fell in love and decided to marry him. She was 57, he - 32. He was the only adjutant of Napoleon III. But to marry the princess, he had to have the same title. And Zinaida bought the object of his passion just two - the Comte de Shevo and the Marquis de Serre. The wedding ceremony took place in Russia, in the chapel of the Yusupov Palace on the Moika. But in 1862 the couple purchased a small castle in Brittany.
