Picture in February 1947 of Columbus Circle, located at the intersection of 8th Avenue, Broadway, Central Park South and Central Park West, at the southwest corner of Central Park, showing the General Motors skyscraper and the Empire State Building on the left, in the background. The circle is the zero-mile point from which all official distances from New York City are measured and has been completely renovated and transformed several times since 1949. This photo is extracted from a report that French photographer Eric Schwab did while traveling Broadway from South to North.
