A path leads under a trellis and through a formal garden. The Beverly Wilshire Hotel is seen in the background.Commissioned by Walker G. McCarty, the 1926 hotel was designed by Walker and Eisen in the Beaux-Arts style. Located at 9500 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, the structure features steel-reinforced concrete construction finished with brick and terra cotta. In 1971 the garden, tennis courts, and pool were converted to a private street known as the El Camino Real, and the Beverly Wing, designed by Welton Becket and Associates was added. The hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
