LeidsepleinLeidseplein ("Leiden Square"), together with Dam Square, Rembrandt Square, is one of the most famous squares in the city of Amsterdam, known as the entertainment and nightlife center of the capital of the Netherlands. Located southwest of the city center, it got its name from Leidsepoort, the huge city gate, demolished in 1862, along the road connecting the capital with Leiden.
