Rancho Cucamonga
Exterior of the Spanish-style depot located at Amethyst Avenue, just north of Base Line Road, in Alta Loma, serving both the Upland-San Bernardino Line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company and the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. The depot (later demolished) includes a Western Union office. This section of the Upland-San Bernardino Line was converted into the Pacific Electric Inland Empire trail, designated for walking, jogging or riding a bicycle or a horse. Rancho Cucamonga was incorporated in 1977, as a result of a merger among the unincorporated communities of Alta Loma, Cucamonga, and Etiwanda.
