Church of the Assumption of the Virgin, more commonly known as Bagrati temple or Bagrati, built by King Bagrat III in 1003. For Georgians it is of particular importance - in the temple Bagrat in 1089 was crowned David IV the Builder, united Georgian principality into a centralized gosudarstvo.V 1987 Bagrat church was in disrepair. During the Turkish attack in 1691 it destroyed the roof and dome of the gunpowder explosion, and in 1770, artillery destroyed the eastern part of the temple in the capture of Kutaisi Russian General Totleben.
