Looking down the Third Street steps towards the Sunshine Apartments at 421 W. Third Street (left). The headline for the Los Angeles Times issue on the steps (lower right) reads, "Kennedy Begins Talks with Adenauer Today." The Kennedy-Adenauer talks took place in late November, 1961. The Bunker Hill apartments and boardinghouses in the upper left have been demolished.
