The construction of the Department of Water and Power Building, located at 111 N. Hope Street, as seen from Hill Street on January 14, 1963. Also seen are the Los Angeles County Courthouse (later renamed the Stanley Mosk Courthouse), left, and the Los Angeles County Hall of Administration (later renamed the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration), right. The DWP General Office Building was designed by Albert C. Martin and Associates and completed in 1964 at the cost of $26,700,000. In November 2000, in honor of longtime council member John Ferraro, the structure was renamed the John Ferraro Building.
