"S" stands for "star," of course, and "soda fountain"-not to mention "so long," "Sunset Boulevard" and "sigh," which is what the moment called for when a worker named Greg Engh took down the neon-trimmed capital letter "S" from the sign on Schwab's Pharmacy. The sign was sold for $600 at an auction of the fixtures and inventory of the world-famous Hollywood landmark located at 8024 Sunset Blvd., now out of business.
