Aswan
The temple was built by order of Petronius around 15 BC. During the reign of Emperor Augustus. It is dedicated to Isis and Osiris, as well as the two deified sons of the local Nubian leader, Pediz (“the one whom Isis gave”) and Porte (“the one who belongs to the mountain”). In the 1960s, the temple was moved from its initial location and was transferred to the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York (USA), where it has been exhibited since 1978.
