This view captures the central part of the horseshoe shaped original main building of the Huntington Hotel in Pasadena framed by trees. A walkway is covered by striped awnings, as are several of the windows on the hotel.The Huntington Hotel, was designed by architects Myron Hunt and Charles Whittlesey in the Mission style and built from 1906 to 1916. The hotel, located at 1401 South Oak Knoll Avenue in Pasadena, covered 23 acres and featured 380 guestrooms, suites, and cottages, three tennis courts and a pool and spa. The original Huntington Hotel main building was demolished in March 1989 and a replacement opened in 1991. Other areas of the hotel were renovated, including some of the bungalows and gardens. This hotel is a City of Pasadena Historic Landmark.
