Looking northeast towards Los Angeles from the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Ocean Avenue (foreground) in Santa Monica. On both sides of the street are various businesses and buildings, some of which are no longer standing. On the right is the Lawrence Welk Plaza, later 100 Wilshire, built by Lawrence Welk and principally designed by Cesar Pelli for the firm Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall in 1969 it is the tallest building in the city.
