Photograph caption dated June 2, 1962 reads, "The new Los Angeles County Hall of Records. A bronze statue is in the foreground on the left & two flags are flying on the right. Dedication ceremonies were scheduled to be Friday, May 18,1962 at 10:30 a.m. with Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Ernest E. Debs, officiating. Principal speaker was to be Ernest J. Loebbecke, President of the Title Insurance and Trust Company." The bronze statue in the foreground (left) is a 1933 copy of the 1796 original by Jean-Antoine Houdon.
