Church of the Transfiguration (Protestant Episcopal), 1-9 East 29th Street, adjoining the N. E. corner of Fifth Avenue. This is better known by its popular name, 'The Little Church around the Corner, the origin of which is already a legend. Construction was begun 1850, and continued whenever additional space was needed and the money for building could be obtained. This has given the church rambling appearance. April 28, 1932.
