342 N Tubb St., Oakland, Fl, he Oakland Hotel was built in 1910. Also known as the Angebilt Lodge, it catered to anglers who stayed her while fishing in Lake Apopka, which lies just a few blocks to the north. We can bike to the dock and see across the once badly-polluted lake, a vista much improved since cleanup efforts began in the 1970s. The hotel no longer stands, but a historic marker in front of a private home identifies that house as the former dining annex of the hotel- you can see the house at far right in this photograph
