Grand, the Brockman was built in 1917 and was also the first reinforced concrete and steel buildings in downtown. When it was built, the 12-story Brockman was also one of the tallest buildings in Los Angeles, soaring within inches of the old 150' height limit in Downtown. The architect was Harrison Albright.
