This powerful tower 34 m high, based on thick walls - at the base, is a thickness of 3.50 m, built in the 15th century under Louis XI. It received in the 17th century, when the city authorities used it to store grain, which could be distributed to the poor in case of lack of food. From 1664 to 1790, she served as a prison for counterfeiters, waiting for shipping to galleys. The barracks of the gendarmerie, built in the 2nd half of the 19th century, included the Grandier Tower in its outbuildings and used it as a warehouse.
