Vienna
The Vienna Kursalon was built by J. Garben in 1865-1867. in the style of the Italian Renaissance. Initially - despite its splendor - the Vienna Kursalon attracted only a few visitors, as the inhabitants of Vienna in these luxurious rooms had to indulge exclusively in water procedures. Concerts and other entertainment were strictly prohibited. But the thirst for music triumphed over the thirst for water: a year after the opening, October 15, 1868, the first concert of Johann Strauss took place here.
