A woman in a sweater talks to a small boy as she and her family walk by the merry-go-round at The Pike amusement park south of Ocean Blvd. in long beach. In the background is the Cyclone Racer roller coaster. Started in 1902, The Pike amusement park ran until 1979. The Cyclone Racer was created by Fred Church, built in 1930 by Harry Traver and was a dual-track (two trains could run at the same time), racing wooden roller coaster. It ceased operation in September 1968. I’m not at all sure about the shooting direction, by the way - it’s possible that both the southeast and the point northeast of the Cyclone.
