East 59th Street, south side, west from Park Ave., showing at the S.W. corner of same (left), No. 500 Park Ave., the administrative offices of the Board of Education. In November 1936,the City of New York acquired a 12-story structure (the former Elks clubhouse) at 102-14 Livingston Street, Brooklyn and will house these offices there after extensive alterations ( 800,000). The edifice with the sloping roof is the Savoy Plaza Hotel and is on the east side of Fifth Ave. between 58th and 59th Streets.<br>August 4, 1937.
