The first photo was taken in the 1970s when the harborfront was lined with such industries as poultry processing, sardine canning, door and window manufacturing and a railroad.With the removal of a poultry industry grain storage facility located at the foot of Main Street in 1984, the harbor was made more welcoming to pleasure boats. All waterfront industries shown are now gone. The door & window manufacturer, Mathews Brothers, is now located south of town.
