Lauchhammer
Europe’s first 110 kV transmission line Lauhammer-Hroditz-Riesa. In the photo there is a line near Lauhamhammer, the point is approximately (on the map of the line). This power line was built by the Lauhammer Mining Society to supply electricity to its metallurgical plants and nearby settlements. The line was significantly different from the power lines of this class that existed at that time in America. Among the differences are compact supports, the foundation of which occupied a small area. The experience in the construction of this power line was considered by domestic electricians when designing the 30 and 70 kV overhead lines of the Transmission company a year later. Among the distinguishing features of the line, characteristic of the beginning of the 20th century, there are protective spark gaps of a special design (visible in the photo), cable and frame catchers and limiters rocking wires. This line also has an unusual unique design traverse.
