Park Avenue, west side, from 38th to 42nd Streets, the avenue being cut off from 42nd to 46th Streets by the Grand Central Station and the New York Central Building, rising behind it. Demolition of houses on the S.W. corner of 39th Street is shown the site will later be used for automobile parking. The Princeton Club remains on the N.W. corner of 39th Street and beyond it may be seen the white two-story commercial building recently erected in place of the old houses demolished in October 1931. The old Murray Hill Hotel fills the block from 40th to 41st Streets, and behind it tower the Lincoln Building at 60 East 42nd Street and the Lefcourt Colonial Building on the S.E. corner of Madison Avenue and 41st Street.
