Entrance of the 21-story office tower located at 100 Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica. Built by Lawrence Welk and principally designed by Cesar Pelli for the firm Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall in 1969, Lawrence Welk Plaza, later 100 Wilshire, is the tallest building in the city Welk's development also includes the neighboring residential Champagne Towers (not visible). At this time, this was the headquarters for General Telephone, and a Sumitomo Bank branch occupied the ground floor (center).
