The former Farmer’s Union located on lower Main Street at the corner of Federal and Cross. It is now called The Ocean House and houses an apartment, a retail store and a restaurant. It was built following the 1865 fire which swept the waterfront clean. It survived the 1873 fire. Early on it was used as a hotel-the Ocean House. The Farmers Union was established in 1914 and used the building. The barn was added in early 1920s and was used to store grain and other farmers products. The building was used later in the 20th century as apartments upstairs and various stores on the lower level.
